CHICAGO, August 13, 2009 - The Chicago Sun-Times, the city's most-read daily newspaper, is pleased to announce that on Thursday, August 20, 2009, it will donate a portion of all single-copy newspaper sales to Special Olympics Illinois.
The Sun-Times will donate 5 cents for each single-copy paper purchased that day at the regular newsstand price of 75 cents, and has pledged to make a minimum commitment of $7,250 to Special Olympics Illinois but hopes to reach at least $10,000. What's more, copies of the newspaper can be pre-ordered by Sun-Times advertisers, Chicago area companies and Special Olympics Illinois partners for just one-third of the cover price, 25 cents apiece, with 5 cents of each sale donated to Special Olympics Illinois as well. Companies that want to support Special Olympics Illinois by pre-ordering papers to give to customers or employees should contact Kristen Davis at (312) 321-2163. Companies that pre-order papers will be recognized in the Chicago Sun-Times on August 20, 2009.
